Proposals for closing projects/Closure of Oromoo Wiktionary

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
The following discussion is closed: Initial concerns about inactivity addressed, one of the proposers of closure recently changed his mind to Keep.

The result was close.--Cometstyles 12:54, 26 January 2008 (UTC) since activity on the wiki has resumed, it will be re-opened...--Cometstyles 03:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please look at the rc again, even a native speaker is active there. Please reopen (it was not closed anyway, thank god, or it would not have gotten activity)... Thanks, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 01:25, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, luckily pathos didn't add this with the other closed wikis :) ..--Cometstyles 03:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I propose to close this discussion within 7 days from now as per this, if there are no objections.--Cometstyles 11:05, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The only activity at the Oromoo wiktionary is the index.php spambot. Ahoerstemeier 11:21, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Support for closure

  1. Support closing. Less than 100 edits since January 25. 2005. No Oromoo content, only a main page in english, a index.php spambot page and some user pages. Sadly only the vandals/spambots seems to find this Wiktionary useful. --Jorunn 13:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Support Yeah, it's far too inactive to stay open, and spam deserves to die wherever it breeds. EVula // talk // 19:13, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support closing. No recent activity nidicates noone is interested...--Tone 07:17, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support defunct and inactive. AnonymousDissident 18:27, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    Support - Very much in need of a closure - --Cometstyles 18:34, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Support closure: no content (wikt:om:Special:Allpages) and no useful activity other than protection and spam cleanup.(wikt:om:Special:Recentchanges) --A. B. (talk) 17:07, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Support closure, no content at all. Can be reopened if there is interest. Picaroon (t) 23:07, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose for closure

  1. Oppose closure, the wiki seems to be active now, even a native seems to help out. Thanks, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 11:19, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Oppose - per birdy ..--Cometstyles 11:20, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Oppose Per actual activity. Not the most active project by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a start. EVula // talk // // 18:09, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Oppose Activity seems to be taking place. Malafaya 14:36, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  5. Oppose. Time, friends, give it time. --Jeffmcneill 23:11, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  6. Oppose - The wiktionary is now somewhat active, and I see no reason to close a Wiktionary that is somewhat active. Razorflame 23:07, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Oppose per Razorflame. Looking at the recent changes, I note a trickle of activity lately. A Stop at Willoughby 19:03, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  8. Oppose There is some content. Om.wikipedia.org also seems to be doing okay. Has there been any effort to expand use with Oromo speakers among Ethiopians abroad? A couple more activists in the language could take Oromo projects to another level.--A12n 14:09, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Comment

There does seem to be content now, and recent edits from a couple of different IPs; no requests to close since 2007. SJ+ 00:16, 12 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
